California Red is featured in the Art 100: LMU Alumni exhibit at Loyola Marymount University. It is an honor to be back at LMU showing as an alumni for the first time at the Laband Gallery. The show is up until Thanksgiving so drop by campus to see some great art from old and recent alumni.

I participated in the Chain Letter exhibit at Shoshana Wayne Gallery. The installation was fun and full of energy, but I'm not so sure about the end result. Go see the exhibit at Bergamot Station through the end of August.

Happy Memorial Day! If you're in the Pasadena area, check out "Stitches" at the Armory Center for the Arts. It was an unexpectedly brilliant and diverse exhibit of "sewing"-based art. I was amazed and pleasantly surprised with the pieces, many of them sculptural.

Happy New Year! I'm back and ready to report on the ever-evolving Los Angeles Art Scene!
The double-museum MOCA show: MOCA's First 30 Years is all the rage right now. It's open until March so don't miss it! Richard Bruland has an exquisite exhibit of his abstract paintings at Lora Schlesinger at Bergamot Station.
03.16.07
Tim Hawkinson at the Getty! WACK! Art and the Feminist Revolution at MOCA! Ben Tour at BLK/MRKT Gallery (a must-see)! So much amazing art in LA right now! :)

Opening on Nov. 19, go to LACMA and view a huge exhibition exploring the work and impact of surrealist Rene Magritte! The show is entitled "Magritte & Contemporary Art: The Treachery of Images" and designed by John Baldessari. Ceci n'est pas une pipe.

Abstract landscape artist Richard Bruland has a solo exhibition at Gail Harvey Gallery in Bergamot Station--one-of-a-kind paintings. Also at Bergamot in Santa Monica, LA Weekly curates an exhibit at Track 16 of recent MFA grads from Los Angeles art schools... definitely worth checking out.
09.04.06
This weekend, Sat. Sept. 9th, Culver City officially re-opens its galleries in the Arts District (yay!). Tiffany Bozic at BLK/MRKT will be interesting and kind of creepy - my kind of art.
08.13.06
I have my own show! Check it out at Abbot's Habit on Sunset Blvd. and Crescent Heights in Los Angeles. A bunch of my Eyes paintings will be shown together. Drew Tewksbury and Cat Ferraz will also have work up. If you stop by, get the Habit Turkey Sandwich... it's my all-time fave.
08.02.06
Check out some amazing new artists at the new "Gallery at the End of the World." Artists include Drew Tewksbury, Becky Ruud, Matt Foote, and many more. The gallery is in Alta Dena so it's quite a trek, but you'll see some great art!
07.15.06
Bergamot Station in Santa Monica is always a fun gallery outing. Suzan Woodruff's exhibit entitled "Buddha's Dust" at Berman/Turner Projects is hypnotizing.
06.27.06
Sage Vaughn at Corey Helford Gallery on Washington Blvd. in Culver City is an amazing artist. It's one of the best solo shows at a small gallery that I've seen in a long time. He's a very talented draftsman with a sense of humor.
06.10.06
Check out fellow LMU-grad Michelle Blade at the latest LAB 101 group show entitled "Rattle the Chandelier" in the Culver City arts district. Click here for more info.
